I suggest you head to the hills.

I live very close to Lake Travis, TX so I tend to always head to the hills versus going east to Austin.

I enjoy the Pedernales, Blanco and Guadalupe rivers. BBQ is good wherever you go in the Hills. Theres usually something interesting in Fredericksburg. The ride to Kerrville and area is real nice scenery. Little places like Luckenbach, Burnet, Blanco, Boerne, Twin Sisters, Spicewood Bandera and LLano usually have something goin on.

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you. " Frank Lloyd Wright
If you have never seen an eagle, there is a wonderful place on lake Buchanan where you can see bald eagles circling in the blue Texas sky.

If its a hot day you can always get a tube and float the Guadalupe River

If you dont get too water logged, head over to Gruene Hall and have nice cold Lone Star or Shiner
So the next time you come to Texas, leave the cities behind and head to the hills, you may see me there.
